He needs your support to be re-elected as Mayor
Michael has served Unley for 24 years, including 14 as Mayor. His commitment to Unley has been proven over many years.
He has been in the forefront of all of Unley’s most important initiatives during the past 20 years, including the:
- Continued protection of Unley's built heritage, particularly it's Victorian and Edwardian legacy.
- Redevelopment of the Unley Swimming Pool.
- Development of the Goodwood Precinct.
- Initiation of the Goodwood Community Bank.
- Rebuilding of the Unley Library and Town Hall complex.
- Redevelopment of the Unley Shopping Centre.
- Fight to save Unley's landscape from ugly cable television wiring.
- Saving of the Orphanage as a place for the people.
- Saving of Goodwood's Souter Park from housing development.
- Redevelopment of Forestville Reserve.
- Refurbishment of Ridge Park.
- Provision of a pedestrian crossing on Glen Osmond Road.
We live in times when strong and proven leadership is essential, and when opting for unproven leadership can be a risky business. Michael has leadership skills proven over 24 years of service to Unley.
Michael's leadership style also values listening and consulting with residents.
In keeping with these values, this website includes a forum so that you can ask Michael about key issues that concern you. The website also gives you a chance to have your say, and to become involved in live, on-line, local government issues, which are important and affect your life.
